Under first year head coach Jason Freckleton, the Bountiful Braves Football team needed only one touchdown in a defensive slugfest as they prevailed over the Rams of Highland High 7-6 on Friday Night at Larry Wall Stadium. The win marked the 400th overall win for Bountiful High School and a debut 1st win for Coach Freckleton. Boston Malmrose put the Braves on the Board with a 55 yard touchdown pass to Brooks Fornelius in the first quarter for the Braves. The Highland rams could only muster 2 field goals in the game that saw both team’s defenses shutting each other down. Other stats include Mitch Moldre running 15 times for 73 yards and Corbin Dubois picking up 52 yards on 12 carries. Malmrose led the Braves passing attack by going 6-11 for 117 yards and 1 TD. Defensively the Braves were led by Jordan Walton with 6 tackles and Drew Bowles and Junior Kelemente picking up 5 tackles each.

Next up for the Braves will be a trip to Weber High School to take on a tough 6A team on Friday August 21 at 7 pm.
